Bored, Disgruntled, Underpaid…Why Are We Doing This?

I often sit here at my desk and wonder wtf we're doing all this for. Retirement? Fat chance. I've been in my industry for almost 8 years, and after 6 months being laid off, was only able to land a JUNIOR role making about a third of what I should be (according to salary calculators and my own expectations). That was literally the only thing I could get. So I'm making barely enough to get by now and feed my family. And I'm supposed to what, exactly? I did all the steps. Went to college, got a job in marketing, and grinded my way for almost 8 years….to what? My job is boring grunt work that underpays. And I can't help but wonder what the point of working full time is when I can't even afford company healthcare for myself. What are we doing?
