So, I do job interviews and manage a department of 30 people. After years of doing this, I already have a great gut feeling developed, of knowing, who is a type of person to succeed in our office.
Recently I was interviewing this girl and I knew that she wouldn't make it. She wasn't the type of personality that fits the job. So, I was already diverting the interview in a way, to cut it short and not waste persons time. But my boss jumps into the interview, out of nowhere, and tells me that he likes her, and we are hiring her.
My jaw dropped. The fun thing is , my boss has 0 interaction with workers. He is that type of person that decides worker of a month, by the way he feels about them that particular day. He can hate a person one day, next praise them, and hate them after.
Anyway. 10 days in working, he is telling me, that we need to fire the girl, because she isn't meeting OUR expectations. DUH, which I knew, and now I have to fire a person, time of which we have literally wasted. She could have used this 10 days looking for something else, someone else, who would respect her time more.
So now I have to fire her and I am embarrassed to do it.
