I’m really not sure why nobody in my company seems to care about what my current manager is doing. We are a small team and I’m in my position since 2 years, while my colleague is has the same position since 1.5 years. We both have solid performance.
Now, my boss is hiring the senior version of our position externally instead of promoting us. Those new senior are ex colleagues and personal friends (They did basic trips together, got drunk together and lot of other boring af stories) of my boss. I have nothing against those guys, but what the fuck?! We’re there since 2 years and we’re not getting promoted because we didn’t have the chance to go to Ibiza during my boss’s wild era? I’m honestly discouraged and don’t know if I should address this with him and how. I’m actually surprised that people above him are so blind and can’t notice the obvious injustice.
