Another notch on his belt I guess. In our last performance review he brought up the potential for some management training. Basically training to slot you in a management position in the future when positions open up. Said I could be a good fit, “you’re smart” and all that jazz. I said I’d definitely be interested and he said he’d send some emails and go from there.
This was about a month ago. I finally brought it up and asked where we at with that. He proceeded to act all confused and said I could always apply for a position if I was interested (heavily insinuated that’d be stupid cause I don’t have the experience) and couldn’t recall any of our previous conversation.
It’s the fact that he’s the one who brought it up that really frustrates me. I wasn’t chomping at the bit aggressively looking for a promotion, he came to me and asked if I wanted it.
He does stuff like this often. He told one of my coworkers she literally got a promotion and just had to finalize it with the DM and HR but she still hasn’t gotten the raise or title change. I’m not really surprised by any of this but it’s so frustrating. Just needed to rant.
