Boss wants to breach my contract

I hope this is the right place for this. I have worked for this company in Canada for nearly 5 years. 3 years of that has been hybrid (2 days in, 3 days from home). I also have it in writing that I am to work 3 days from home. I live an hour drive from the office (on a good day), and all of my work can be done remotely. Since I started, I have picked up a lot of my manager's duties (including managing the team despite not being a manager) sans raise or promotion. I have the highest performance on the team, and constantly have the promise of a promotion dangled over my head. The real issue is that over the past year, my boss has been off sick or or on vacation at least 2-3 times a week without fail. Which means I've been picking up her slack even more.

She recently sat me down and said that I'm now expected to be in the office any time she is sick or on vacation (as i am the only “senior” member of the team, despitenot being compensated as such or being given a new title). To me, this is ridiculous. She plans to call me (and try to wake me up) at 5am any time she is sick so I can drive to the office.

I've applied to a number of different positions, but can she even do this?
