I’m a part of a workgroup chat initially created for discussing administrative matters and company billing issues.
Unfortunately, when I make a mistake or encounter an issue, my boss tends to address it in the group chat instead of having a one-on-one conversation. This approach leaves my errors open for everyone to see. He justifies this by citing 'company policy' and wanting everyone informed.
Today, I made a mistake (which is rare, but I acknowledge it was my oversight), and this time he very badly criticized me publicly in the group chat. Since he's a co-owner of the company, I feel powerless to do anything about it. I find these public criticisms humiliating and detrimental to my mental health. While the pay is decent, it's becoming increasingly clear that I should start exploring other job opportunities due to my boss's behavior.
Anyway, just needed to vent. Thanks for listening.
