So when I joined this company, it was small with about 13-14 people. I had never worked for a small company before, but I quickly came to love it. Everyone was focused on working as a team and offered support, that it reflected on the work we did, and the clients and their vendors loved it.
Well, that company got acquired a couple years ago, and part of that sale was half the team, including me. Over the next few months the team diminished until it was just me remaining. At this point I was stressed out and begging to get more people to join the team so that I could train them up and get the support that i needed.
It was not until 2 months go by that I start getting support, and eventually things get back to normal, however the team members that I had also had other responsibilities for other departments. It was not perfect, but at least it was not me pulling my hair out on a daily basis.
Well one of the managers has been pushing to get one of my team members to do more work for the other departments, and I had to keep pushing back. Now I am not a manager, and I have little say regarding her team, but when it pulls my support away, I get very vocal in a professional way. Also the person that they are wanting to pull is awesome, and they are not paying her for the role that she is working with me, but paying probably $25000 less. I have told her about that and that she needs to push for more pay due to the responsibility, but I think she is unable to find her voice to express herself effectively.
Well I am now in a situation where they have pulled all my team away. I was initially mad about it, but you know what? If things do not get done, then I will forward the complaints to the management about it. Inbox filling up? Tasks unable to be completed? all complaints will be sent to the next level management. Oh and I am looking to find something ASAP and just peace out as I have had enough of the lack of managerial support.
