Ok this post may seem to come across some venting and it is from myself but I am sure others may relate… I have been at same company for 17 years I love what I do! I had a car for years and drove to work happily ever after with minimal traffic as Brampton was not populated as it is now.
I moved to a condo five years before the pandemic hit with awesome transit going south and north took me just half hour to get work same as driving pretty much. Now with the loads of population increase you wait forever to get on an empty bus!
Everyone worked from home during pandemic i got a great life work balance very awesome i loved it and others in my work did too.
As soon as the pandemic hit the RTO started and those who could afford to quit did and those who couldn't quit went in. I'm one of the ones among 4 others that are in office from the original pack. A few new hires are also in the office as they got called back in all trying to look for other work that’s remote or hybrid but no luck with hundreds of applications for same job here in the GTA or sucks if you need a job now so it’s best to keep what you have and try and manage or croak over and die LOL.
My point of this post is for all the managers beginning or experienced… You have us in the office that's what you wanted now back the crap off and leave us alone to do our work. We don't need time cards being micromanaged we don't need our pay docked for punching out two minutes early or two minutes late… Chill out people if it was not for employees like us your pockets would not be wealthy!
Bottom line is its not fair to have some people remote and some in office its called favoritism! Its not even about productivity its all because its convenient for you to pick and choose who is in the office to be your servant!
We in the office want flexibility and that's all we want a life balance we had for four years and now you have turned our life upside down… Then you complain nobody wants to work…
I thought the pandemic taught us how to progress forward not backwards!
