So I spent most of Friday filling out workers comp paperwork while I waited for an xray for my swollen foot. At the beginning of my shift I was asked to get a glass windshield ready for transport. Being that my company does not store glass properly and has no place for us to rebox the glass, it's pretty risky to handle it. This windshield weighed about 80 pounds and slipped while I was trying to make a box for it. It of course had to land right on my foot. The doctor said from the X-ray that it was broken in 3 places. I was told no driving, but told I could continue working. So my boss of course threatened to fire me if I did not come back to work. I explained that since I was now restricted from driving I would need some time to arrange transportation to and from work. He told me he interpreted that restriction as only applying to driving a company vehicle so again no time off or consideration would be given. I spent the last part of my shift falling repeatedly around the warehouse on my crutches because it's cluttered and not at all ada compliant. By the time I got home my foot had actually gotten worse because I was not allowed to rest it. Can I sue these people?
