Part-time paramedic 18$ an hour. Other first responder positions (except police) starting at 30-ish k per year.. dog catcher advertised about 35k. Code compliance officer 18$ an hour. Police officers anywhere from 50-90k. This isn’t a low COL area. 10 yrs ago the average 2bdr house built in 60s was taxed at about 80k. Same houses are now taxed on 200k plus. Checked neighboring city’s job postings. Even the “rich asses” neighborhood with million dollar homes, Their pay is the same.
There’s Cashiers at local Walmart making more than that.
Makes me less bitchy about 30$ an hr working on cars.
