Business Owner’s Son Made My Boss Quit

I just found out that my boss (the general manager) resigned her post today. I literally cried because she's the best manager I've ever had, and I've been through a lot of jobs. Apparently the owner's son started harassing her and being a total jerk. He told her she wasn't mentally all there, and that she wasn't doing enough for her job, among other things. She just lost her husband like two weeks ago. She is grieving, she took time off, of course her mind isn't entirely on work, she lost her husband of 20+ years and is having to restructure her entire life! And the claims that she doesn't do enough… She covered every shift, called us (her workers) when we were out sick just to genuinely check up on us, brought breakfast to those who worked nightshift. She covered areas she wasn't in charge of, and made sure…

She covered areas she wasn't in charge of, and made sure everything was in tip top shape every single day. She did her job plus so much more that wasn't even expected of her.

On top of all that, the VERY SAME DAY her husband passed, she tried to come into work to cover a shift. I told her to go home and I worked a double so she could have that time.

She is a good woman and a good boss. I will miss her. I have more than half a mind to quit right along with her!

This same guy also does random calls posing as customers to see if we're actually working. A woman that was on her very first shift got one of these calls and he said she “wasn't chipper enough” and he had her fired for it. No warning, or coaching, or anything. Just fired.

I'm so sick of higher ups thinking they know more than the people who are actually getting their hands dirty.

Edit: for clarification, the son doesn't work at/for the business, he has a different job. He just likes to meddle and his parents don't care.
