Title.
I'm just in a real mood right now because I have put in a dozen applications to various jobs I absolutely am qualified for, but I have either been rejected, ghosted, or outright ignored on all of them. I don't know why. I can guess, at least 2 of the jobs that ghosted me did so after asking me my desired salary, to which I stated their top end offer (both were $20 an hour, both manager positions at retail stores) based on needing a living wage and my 10 years experience. One of them tried to haggle me down to $14 an hour before ghosting me. The others I don't know. I've come to the conclusion that there needs to be a government database hat all businesses are required to submit employment data to, every time someone applies for a job the company should be required to list the application and if they end up not hiring the company should be required to give a reason why.
Not only would this help make employment practices much more publicly visible, but it will also shut up everyone who keeps spouting the “no one wants to work anymore” line. Exame: Company A over here passed over 200 applicants, but claims no one wamts to work, so… Maybe the issue isn't that no one wants to work, and it's that the company is just shitty?
Anyways. Back to filling out applications thst will get binned by an AI Because I want a living wage. No, I'm not joking, one of the jobs asked me if I would grant permission for an AI to look over my resume to determine if I was suitable, I declined and was instantly rejected. A fucking COMPUTER rejected me for not letting an AI look my resume over. We live in the worst timeline.
