Bypass work VPN so i can go back to my home country

Hello fellas, I'm an expat working for a major international company where I've always maintained a good standing. This year, I'm hoping to spend at least a month in my home country with my family. Hello fellas,

I'm an expat working for a major international company where I've always maintained a good standing.

This year, I'm hoping to spend at least a month in my home country with my family. I only visit them once a year and I miss them dearly.

The standard policy in my compamy won't allow more than two weeks abroad, and as everything in this company, it's non-negotiable, regardless of you are a good employee or not.

Furthermore, my job (creative) doesn't require my physical presence to get done, in fact I even work most of the time remotely. So me being away wouldn't affect anyone or any of the bilion dollars company's operations.

So, my plan is to officially take one to two weeks off but actually be away for a month, working remotely from my home country.

Here's the challenge: I use a Lenovo laptop issued by the company. It's connected to a Microsoft synchronized work account and a corporate VPN. The ITs manages the laptop and network settings, and they can quickly detect if I'm logging in via the corporate VPN from outside the country.

In the past (sweet covid time), when we used personal laptops to remotely connect to work computers via the same corporate VPN and MS remote desktop, I set up an OpenVPN server using a Raspberry Pi and configured port forwarding on my home router. This allowed me to travel and appear as though I was still at home.

I'm hoping to replicate this, but the catch is that I can't install or change any settings on the company laptop. Does anyone have any ideas or solutions?
