Called in sick got called a liar

I just called in sick and it turns out my old manager has resigned and a new area manager was given the position, I have inflammatory bowel disease which at the moment remains untreated due extremely lengthy hospital wait lists and this causes and abundance of issues in my day to day life including vomiting and diarrhoea and mainly stomach pain. I made the company aware of this during my initial interview so that they would be aware there would be days where my stomach problems wouldn’t permit me to go into work and this has been so far fine, I have only had to take around 2 days sickness (one of which was me being rushed to hospital for emergency treatment and pain relief) the other was to get some run of the mill tests done (blood, urine stool etc) so today would be the first day I took…

I made the company aware of this during my initial interview so that they would be aware there would be days where my stomach problems wouldn’t permit me to go into work and this has been so far fine, I have only had to take around 2 days sickness (one of which was me being rushed to hospital for emergency treatment and pain relief) the other was to get some run of the mill tests done (blood, urine stool etc) so today would be the first day I took off purely to rest and recover. So when I called in I started with my name and thought it was my supervisor who I had come to know very well and explained my issue, it was after the response where I realised this wasn’t my colleague but the new area manager who then proceeded to implicate that I am a liar and that 3 hours notice isn’t enough even if I was asleep before then and also has demanded constant updates on my health and for me to tell him the day I’m coming back before I’ve had a chance to recover . I don’t really know why I’m making this post but I’m just extremely aggravated, how on the literal first ever sentence he said to me did he manage to call me a liar about a chronic condition I’ve been suffering from for a long time and how does he think that’s okay. I would also like to add that during my employment review only yesterday my previous manager suggested seeking a promotion within the company, and I have never had a single complaint from a colleague or clientele. How am I supposed to deal with a man who has judged me off of an illness and hasn’t bothered conferring with any coworker or previous manager about my quality as an employee.

Rant over I guess
