Can an employer require me to display my full name on my personal vehicle while at work?

I have a job at a university in Illinois that requires parking passes. For some reason we have been issued “temporary” paper parking passes that display our full name. These are required to be displayed while we are parked in the parking lot. I feel pretty uncomfortable with this, especially given that the regular passes almost every employee has displayed have no personal information, just a pass number. I should add that we are told we will always have the temporary passes, and there is no intention of replacing them with the normal pass that displays no personal information.
