Back in mid July I was let go from a company I’ve been with for 3 years. I was let go for misconduct, which was 3 missed punches in a 90 day time span. The missed punches happened in April, June, and July.
I filed a grievance with my union for being terminated, and the grievance process began.
It’s been a frustrating and annoying process the whole time.
From the get go the communication from my union rep has been awful. An example being during step 2 not telling me until an hour before about a meeting I could attend. Then recently with the step 3, telling me about a meeting & giving me the wrong time.
Now the process is past step 3. The union rep is telling me that he’ll have to get the approval from his higher up to take it to arbitration because it’s an expensive process taking it to arbitration.
I’m fully expecting the next time I talk to him, that he’ll tell me so and so decided against pursuing it further.
I’m not anti union but the way this was handled was pretty frustrating.
