Can my job force me to cover a position I wasn’t hired for?

So I'm a shift lead for a contracted cleaning team in a factory. Our company is responsible for having one extra person hired on to help in the receiving area. That receiving employee is going to going out soon for surgeries and will be off for 4-6 months. I was recently informed it's their plan to have me take over that position and use one of the employees on my shift to kinda half ass fill in for me during that time. I REALLY don't want to cover this position, especially for that long. Am I within my rights to refuse this? It's not even close to what I was hired for. Or am I just screwed? I'm in PA and we don't tend to have worker friendly policies
