Apologies for the long post…
I don’t know who else to ask about this but I have been working with a company for about 10 months now and a few (like 2) months back I had to call out for 2 days due to a medical issue I was having and supplied Dr notes etc… I was called into a meeting where my supervisor and their supervisor basically gave me a written warning for my attendance. I panicked and signed it (I realized immediately afterwards when I was actually able to read through it that I shouldn’t have) but I felt pressured. It recalled a prior meeting which never happened where they claimed I had already been addressed on the matter. Again, it never happened. Fast forward a couple weeks ago, my childhood cat died. She was 17 years old and considered a family member. I have been extremely depressed over this and struggling but I only took the one day off (the day she passed, when my mom called me to tell me). This morning, our dog passed away and we are devastated again and have an appointment to get him cremated. I texted my boss and their boss in a group text saying I would be out. My boss was out last week for 2 days and I covered for them, but now they are saying they will still be out today and insinuated that it’s my responsibility to be there and cover for them. So basically I told them I am sorry but I still cannot come in. I’m worried they will use this against me. Is there anything I can do?
