Layoffs were unnecessary and driven by investor panic. Every company who did layoffs knows they did it only to appease Wall Street and follow their peers.
Don't give me the over-hiring, AI, or some other BS reasoning. Some companies are genuinely struggling but that's their business model and burning VC cash to blame not over hiring.
Watch the changes like these:
– Salesforce is hiring back people after firing a bunch early this year
– Meta is throwing happy hours and bringing back laundry services to “boost morale”
Everyone who was laid off suffered but these executives don't give a shit. CEOs say “taking responsibility” but none of them had to resign. Sh*t leadership.
I can't wait for the job market to open up so the employees can get back control. I know it is going to get worse before it improves. But hopefully, 2024 is better.
