Dont even bother reading rejection emails and responding back if the you didnt get the job.
45 hours weeks, only paid for 43
As the title suggests, the place I'm at has us working 40 hours mandatory. There is nothing unusual there. 10 hours mon to Thursday. We can work Friday, but it is 7 to 12, 5 hours. Yet it's only counted as 3 hours worked at time and a half. I'm in NC, and I need to know if I have a case for when I leave to report it.
As of a young age it was beaten into my head, first with grandparents then parents, of always trying your best at work? I can't help but bust my ass at work now and it's taken its toll on my mental health, how can I stop this?
Hi. Throwaway account for multiple reasons. I’d like to mention that I’m not based in the USA. I’m in Europe. Germany specifically. All started this year in July when I got hired as a dishwasher in one restaraunt. Prior to calling and accepting the job offer, I was never told that I will be working 60 hours a week. 20 of those which are unpaid. I’ve agreed to 40 hours as I’ve signed the contract. I make 12.85€ Brutto an hour. We work 6 days a week, (9 and half hours every day and Sundays 13 hours), all without a proper lunch break. But ok. As weeks have gone by, my boss would slowly try to get me to come earlier 1 hour to work than I’m scheduled to come, sometimes stay 1 hour or 2 hours longer to polish the silverware if that day we had more work than…
Old Manager keeps trying to contact me
A manager that used to work for the company I work at left almost a year ago and all of a sudden for the last month he’s been trying to get into contact with me. He was a terrible manager, always put way more on my plate than I could handle and when I asked for help it was “well if you can’t do it we can find someone else to do it” he also messed with my pay which was even more of an asshole move and solidified me blocking him from ever contacting me personally again. He’s tried asking my manager and one of my coworkers to get me to answer his messages and for the past week he’s been blowing up one of my worker’s phone. My worker hasn’t answered since he sees no need to and I’m just so frustrated. Like you don’t work here anymore,…
Backstory : I work in tech for a series B startup. In one of the career-growth 1:1 talks with my manager several months ago, I made the mistake of being honest with her and saying that I would prefer to join [specific] team which aligns more with my interests and career goals. She says she understands, and will check to see what options I have to move to that team. Fast forward few months, they're currently interviewing to backfill a former coworker's position in my team, and as most know in the current tech climate they're inundated with candidates. I have another 1:1 with the manager, she tells me that as the team I mentioned before won't have an opening any time in the foreseeable future, I need to make a decision whether I want to stay or go, as she wants her team to comprise of people who truly…
My blood is on your hands.
You lied. Just like you always fucking did. I filed so many complaints and everything fell on deaf ears. American Expediting, you are a piece of shit company and so is Marken. And thanks to you, this is the end for me. You lied in training us and said one thing and then later when I got reprimanded for doing what you SAID, Griselda Sanchez, it was a different story. You lied about getting a new system so things would be easier and better. You were busy adding tracking devices instead of terminating the cunts who didn't want to work and then blaming and punishing the ones who did. I went above and beyond for your fucking company and you know it and that cunt bag Michelle was always harassing me when she could easily look at the outbox and see that I was sending emails since we used garbage…
my ex-employer would make employees sign a piece of paper stating that if they left their scheduled shift within the first 2 hours for any reason, they forfeit all pay, even if they worked a portion of that 2 hours. is this legal?
