basically the title. i work at a retirement home where we have a hotel-like system indoors, and on-site cottages where residents can live. we do food deliveries for both, and i deliver for the cottages. i'm a server, for context, and serve about 75% of the entire population at this home. i love all the residents at this home, but the manager is insufferable. tonight, he was informed when he got the delivery list that one resident in the cottages had covid, and to leave the food on the doorstep after knocking. he apparently didn't write this down or even remember, because an hour after i finished deliveries i was informed of this by the concierge at the front desk (who is amazing btw but always busy). i had handed the food to this lady directly. and served more people once i got back. two people in my house have…
Are we boycotting student loan payments?
We should. Fuck this. I’m still barely making it. Biden needs to fix this. This was a campaign promise. I’m pissed.
I started this job a month ago and the work load wasn’t anything crazy. My offer letter says that in six months I will get a raise. An employee just quit and I’m being handed off some of the work she did. My boss isn’t looking to rehire someone for this position. It’s a small place of six employees at this specific office, but it has more employees in other cities. Is it appropriate to ask for a raise now? I’m also intimidated by my boss as she is nice to me but in general a blunt, rude, gets angry at simple questions asked kind of person.

After 4 rounds of interviews for a job I am qualified for, and that I really wanted, I heard today that I did not get the job because “you may not be happy here.” I asked for clarification and they gave none. I wanted the job and was happy through the entire interview process. Shouldn’t I be the judge of if I will be happy? Also, I am working to get paid, not to find happiness.
