So I'm about to quit this job in a month and there's a guy at work he's not my boss but I technically work under him and he's an arrogant asshole. and a big fucking idiot too. lots of other people in the staff has told me that because his mother is in the HR department he got the job very easily and that's why no one is doing anything to him despite of him making so many mistakes. so many times he has given me shit for the things that were his fault. I never said anything cause I was new and I needed the job but now this dude has been blaming me for not doing a lot of things that he is supposed to do. He gets angry at me for not reminding him to do something which he himself made a note of to remember. we…
Category: Antiwork
I work at a gas station. I've worked there for about 2.5 years. I get paid fairly well above a living wage ($6.50 more than livable wage according to living wage calculator for one adult with no children) and that's as a bottom tier employee with no responsibility other than just showing up to work. It has an incredible 401k program (i got about 20% of my wage last year into my 401k) and the company is completely employee owned. As the bottom tier employee I can create my own schedule and ask off any day in advance as long as I get it in Tuesday the week before and have some access to PTO (it is very lacking compared to an ideal version of PTO) The company realized that hey, they spend a lot of money on healthcare for employees and just socialized healthcare within its own company and…
I struggle not to roll my eyes as i go back to business as usual every time
I’m quitting this week.
I and several others got demoted after 1 slow week of business. Our team had a total of 10 sales on the board for the week, and it effected all of us mentally. I recently got a promotion a month ago, and after we got 10 deals they reversed my promotion and started micromanaging me and five others. Means we get half of the 90% of commission or half of the 50% of commissions depending on the source of the deal + 12 an hr. I live in a metropolitan city, it’s not sustainable especially if no one is buying. Now I’ve been hitting my KPIS never missed quota, but I’ve been struggling to be motivated to work at this company especially after learning some more shady practices. Everyday is stressful and I’m taking off to Jamaica so I’m quitting this Thursday. Fuck this, fuck them. I’m a hard working…
I really dislike that my job takes so much of my time and energy and for what? Just to pay rent and barely make ends meet…and that is despite going through a stem degree and getting into a “lucrative” industry. When do I get to live though? In the small hours between? Like how is 40 hrs a week so normalized? It is insane. And to be expected to just work like crazy just to survive and maybe retire one day.
I got a message on LinkedIn with a job profile attached. I told the recruiter that I’m always looking for work at the right offer. I currently work 3 days a week and have 4 days off on £39.04 (a lot in the UK for you Americans) an hour in which I honestly spend 75% of my day in the break room watching TV shows. This job profile was this, and I want you to guess what the hourly rate was. I will reply in 6 hours with an edit as to what the rate was. We are hiring: Position: Installation Operative – Mechanical Location of the office: Tyneside Rate: up to NOT TELLING YET (Depending on experience and qualifications) Benefits: Possibility of overtime Possibility of bonus Travel time allowance Fuel reimbursement Employee Assistance Program Healthshield Discounted gym memberships/services Role Responsibilities: Mechanical Fitting: Match mark mechanical equipment prior to carrying…
His Wife Died, But He Still Showed Up
I have a long list of chronic illnesses, both mental and physical (ASD, IBS, fibromyalgia, recurring migraines and insomnia are the top 5). Today is a really hot day in the UK, which was affecting me from the very start. I had a lot of clients to call, which always sets my anxiety on edge as while I know they won't be angry, I have to ask a lot of open ended questions, which prompts a lot of blather in response, and as I'm not a stenographer I have to concentrate really hard on what I'm typing AND what I'm listening to. While all this is happening, our windows are open so our blinds are rattling all. The. Time. Most of our staff are getting new IT equipment, so people are moving and moving equipment about around me and having conversations all the time, including loud personal conversations across me…
I've never had labor day off, but I've noticed that all of my bosses did. The ones that don't really do any actual work. It's annoying how it's supposed to be a day of gratitude towards the working class, but instead the holiday has been warped into a day for management to take the day off. Just wanted to point that out
