I live in WA state and as of January 2023, all employers with over 15 employees must provide the wage/salary range in their job postings. I have found that roughly 20%-25% of job postings still don't do this after 8 months. I have reported postings to the job posting site but I doubt they're doing anything about it. How do I report them to the government/state/whatever authority enforces this? It doesn't seem fair that they just get to break the law so they can continue to screw over applicants. Here's the law if you're curious: https://app.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=49.58.110
Gonna start by saying I don't want sympathy. I want what I have to say to provide perspective on how we need to create worker solidarity. I'm in middle management. I didn't go to school for business or any of that bullshit. I'm just a guy who worked his way up from the ground floor and am now in a management position. I just made my team's schedule for the next couple weeks and because of “business levels” I'm worried about my crew being able to eat this month. Usually, I enjoy my job. I like running interference with customers and making decisions on how to beat utilize my team's talents. If I was able to set my own budgets, this dip in business would be the time for training and routine maintenance. Not every manager is like me, but I'm sitting here screaming inside because the system is a…
Research has shown that most of these tests are inaccurate, but for some reason hiring managers still request them like they have some knack for deciphering a persons traits through a 10 minute survey. It’s bullshit, I had an interviewer tell me that even though I matched the qualifications and requirements for the job, the results of their personality test suggested I would be better in a different position. Fuck them, I’m not playing those games
As of late, I've been working in a job field that inspects certain aspects of commercial buildings to make sure they're up to code. I won't go into what exactly I do, but inspections are involved. I am paid to find problems and notify the building owner of these issues so that they can be corrected so that down the line, massive damage and loss of life is precented. Keep in mind, the city/county is also notified of the issues I find. I did a building a few weeks back and found several issues. Our company can also fix those issues. Well some of the issues I found were going to be difficult/tedious to fix. They could be done, but they weren't going to be easy. Well the repair guy who was sent to fix these issues was majorly pissed at me because they weren't easy. So I went to…
So for many reasons my GM IS TERRIBLE.
So my boss doesn't like me in general because I am a trans man. She has been trying to find any way she can to fire me. She is awful to customers to the point she has driven many away. I've tried to say something to the DM but it's useless. Literally the only thing that might help is if people complain about her. But she refuses to share her name when customers want to complain. Literally I'm done. I want to go elsewhere away from such a toxic environment
Need help documenting
I've started working for a company I took a year off from in October r. I never filled out any new paperwork(I was still in the system from before), was never given a job description or anything on file. I had an agreement with management about working only mornings, they hired someone else and I had to work nights to get my hours. The managers weren't working weekends and I could handle any tasks/guests needing a manager and got a pay raise and title change still no paperwork. New management came in and are cutting and affecting my hours, poking and nitpicking, and setting me up for disaster (sales agreed to things with a client for things I informed them would not work well on our end due to staffing, and how cooking works). I agreed to work 40-45 hours a week and now the new management wants no overtime…
