Hi all, TLDR at bottom. I work on a sales floor, as the summer is ending our tour flow has gone down significantly. It's a given rule since day one that aslong as we are not on tour, it's fair game in the back. Play on your phone, read, go on the computer. Anything that is not disruptive to the overall sales floor is perfectly acceptable. Most days when we're slow, everyone is just in the back office shooting the shit or scrolling tiktok. However, that's where we get to this morning. I'm beginning to get fed up with the business I'm in, I like the people I work with and the money I can make however management and the overall corporation I work for has left such a bad taste in my mouth, and with my small family growing I'm wanting to explore my options. I'm preparing for the…

For context here, 1 of my best friends works in the IT department at a major hospital and his department like every other one is way understaffed and overworked and has been for years; and it like everywhere else has gotten worse since covid. Most of the IT department went remote including himself and they just about made it work but once the push to be on site as it was called it was made very, very, clear by the very head of the IT department itself that they were going to need more people and that it all honesty the hospital needed to rehire a bunch of the IT folks that they let go during covid b/c training someone new was going to cost too money but more importantly too time that his department didn't have because they didn't the manpower or resources to do that on a large…
Working as janitor at library. These days were hard for me. Always demanding more time and efforts. I've been overworking for three months(and I'll be overworking forever with this.) and it doesn't effect to my salary. I wake up dawn(4:50) and go to store to work everyday. Library isn't big as college but it's quite big and I think it's consuming my energy and life but I have no choice but to work here. Where I'm living don't have much jobs and I don't want to walk over 1 hour to work. Especially when weather is cold or hot. Thr most annoying thing is my boss. He doesn't look into my reports. The store has some beverages and snacks, coffee machine, Ice generator etc for customers conveniences. I always makeb a report to him every day about the amounts of stocks(beverages, snacks, coffee beans, paper cups) and progesses of cleaning,…
Started Working for Netflix
Went to lunch during training and didn’t go back… because my trainer made me ask for permission to go to the bathroom.
Been working at this company for 3 years and I‘m (26) the youngest in my team, most of my colleagues are between 50-60. I‘m honestly just here for the money and to improve my skills. Earlier this year around 30% of colleagues were laid off and the CEOs told us there are no salary increases, events, trainings or bonuses planned for 2023. No one liked how they just laid off so many colleagues and friends and the future was looking grim for everyone left behind. I stayed either way. It sucks, but I did not want to go through interview hell again. Fast forward to summer 2023. Last week they organized an after work party with food and drinks to raise morale and it was honestly fun. I hung out with my team mostly and noticed they kept pointing at people who were standing 10m away from us and excitedly…

Frequent Job Change and Self Worth
Currently at my 7th job in two years. I’ve never been fired, and I usually stay at least 4 months before feeling suffocated by workplace failures and this time- I haven’t been trained on 85% of the position before being expected to perform serious work at 100% understanding. This is a cyclical issue, and they have either fired or lost more employees than I’ve had jobs in the past few years. The position was advertised as an administrative assistant position, but it’s an entirely different title and more intense scope of work. I’m feeling lost, have shit self esteem from all of this, and I’m realizing this is the exact goal of this fucking system. I have a degree, and I’m currently getting my Master’s online. As part of my recent studies, I have taken Human Resources Management and been forced to confront what I want from a position, as…
Yes it's a pun. That doesn't make it untrue.
