I had a job interview for a tech support position, work from home. She asked to see my room because it is mandatory to have a quiet place for the job and a room with a closed door. I was not comfortable with showing my room at all. I was so anxious and taken back that I gave her a quick tour. Then she kept insisting on seeing my door to verify I have a closed door. And she told me she would record the interview to review with the hiring manager or whoever.. This was so bizarre, is this normal? I wish I said no thank you because now I feel like shit

Hey guys, I just wanted to vent a bit, in my company we get stock options every year if we comply with our KPIs, in my case everything I just had to have a good August and I would get my bonus. Then everything got jinxed, got a ticket from [redacted] to get support for a product isn't even ours. I was very straight forward and told them, sorry X product is not managed by our company, we suggest you to check with X company, if needed we would be more than happy to assist. So this jackass left a 1star review, talked with my manager and they were like sorry, we literally can't do anything, basically this just messed up my customer satisfaction KPI so I won't be getting my bonus. I'm just disappointed, was thinking about leaving a bad review in their glass door but with my head…
It just stormed in my city really bad and I walked outside to get in my car for my shift to find out that a tree fell down directly onto my street. Naturally I tried to uber but the construction blockades will not allow for any entry or exit. I called my manager shaking from guilt to let her know and she spent nearly five minutes saying “I don’t understand what you mean” and “we really need you tonight” and I just kept explaining multiple times. When I said that I’m really sorry, she just went “yeah yeah” and slammed her phone down to hang up. Now I cant enjoy my night and feel extremely bad. Bruh Edit: to be fair, I do call out a good bit. I don’t want to falsely paint myself as an angel in this situation. She’s probably sick of me being busy and such.
Lately I’ve been struggling with work and reading articles on how to communicate with your manager. From time to time ask them for guidance etc. well what if they can’t give advice in an area eg. they have not done the work and you know what to do..what if they give you the wrong advice? Anyway, trying to create a mask or autopilot settings 🙂
I'm sorry for the long post, I'm just venting to let some of this pregnancy stress off my chest. Part 1 is about the maternity leave my work is “allowing” me to have, Part 2 will be about how I personally think my boss is being shady. I (23f) am currently 26 weeks pregnant. When I had the interview for my current job, I was 17 weeks pregnant, 19 weeks pregnant when I first started working there. During the interview, I let my boss know that I was pregnant (I wasn't showing much at the time). My boss and my coworkers have been pretty cool about the pregnancy (including me, there's 5 of us at this store). My boss told me soon after I started that the district manager asked him if he knew I was pregnant. My boss informed him that he knew, that I brought it up to…
I’m going to make this short and simple, I work at a small e-commerce company with only about 20 employees. Everyone gets along pretty well and everyone is somewhat on the same page. Except there is one lady who has worked with the company from the start that is just down right toxic. She is constantly coming into work with a horrible attitude and putting it onto everyone else, consistently fighting with her boyfriend on the phone (she literally will get in screaming matches in the middle of the office with him on the phone). Makes everyone uncomfortable and has even “mean girl”d a new chick to the point she just quit. She makes consistent remarks that are belittling and overall brings the whole department down. The only problem is her only friend at the office is our supervisor, who does nothing about it. I want to plan a meeting…
Work where I’ve been for nearly two years over looked for me a promotion. Was given to a trainee who’s been there 10 months, not even remotely qualified. Then had the gall to ask me to train them on how to do the new job role. Needless to say I refused. When I came into this job I was the only qualified member of the team and I’ve trained everyone in the building near enough. At no extra pay as well. I brought the place up from a shit heap into having an amazing reputation and this is how they repay me.
Not a member/one that subscribes to most of the trains of thought in here, but just wanted to share some motivation. Have a great day everyone
[Part 2] My boss is being shady
First part was about how my employer is only giving me 2 weeks of unpaid maternity leave. I'm mainly just venting to let some pregnancy stress off my chest. I (23F) have been at my job for almost 2 months. At first, I thought this job was the piece of cake I've been looking for (especially since I'm pregnant currently). My boss is pretty chill, he's laid back, and vents about a bunch of things. One of the things he's told the crew is that “He made more money from unemployment and link than working here.” I was surprised to hear that from a manager, but kept my mouth shut. A couple weeks ago, he told us that we need to add protection to the customer's accounts without asking them (so without their knowledge), so we can meet our features goal (I work for a cellphone company). I felt super…
