Can anyone help me? My work bought me a computer and asked that I install Hubstaff on to it so they can track hours and take screenshots of my work every 10 minutes. I can’t quit and this is their computer. Is there anything I can say to let me be an exception so I don’t have to have this installed and monitoring everything. Edit: I can’t quit, that’s not an option. Looking for advice other than quitting please.

Office jobs are one of the worst. Good for the body because I'm not busting my ass doing hard labor like I used to, but I just sit around and stare at the computer for hours. My boss always leaves before me, last week on Friday I literally did zero work. He was leaving early for a coworkers retirement celebration, I asked if I can leave early since I wasn't doing nothing and he was leaving. Gave me a hard no, then proceeded to tell me he worked his way to this and he worked almost 2 decades straight without missing work, and we need to earn our keep. I'm sorry that I'm not willing to work myself to death for a paycheck, but everyday when I'm sitting around doing nothing I just think about how much life I'm missing and why we even need to work a 5 day…
The stress and anxiety
I'm a night auditor for one of the major brands. We happen to be located next to an airport and tourist attraction so we tend to get busy. Lately because other employees are on vacation the remaining ones are subject to working doubles and several several days in a row. I just ended my 8th day, the day prior I worked 16 hours. From 3 pm to 11pm today I was alone on the front desk and it was so busy I physically couldn't keep up and I broke down. I could barely talk, think, or just do anything. Between the phone calls. The reservations, the check ins, the people buying things, the people already checked in needing things brought to their room. Tvs never work, phones never work and nothing is ever satisfactory. That and we run a shuttle that i have to manage great! For 2 hours today…
Shady Employer Payment
Hey there. My coworkers and I are all having this issue and are have questions we cant get answers to. We all work at a restaurant California, and most of our wage is laid via tips. However there’s a problem. 60% of our tips go towards our chefs each night. We’ve tried asking our manager and owners if they also earn their wage via tips, or by salary. They refuse to tell us. Assuming that they do earn their wage via salary, is it legal for our management to force us to give 60% of our tips to our chefs each night? My coworkers and I have all searched for laws regarding this however we cant find anything relevant to our questions. Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you.
I don't know how other people see this, but when I come into work to several emails and notes all written in capital letters, or written in red and in caps, with a yellow background to boot, it makes me feel like shit. These last few weeks have been rough. I am working nights opposite my wife to cover while I train the new Night Auditor on our practices, my mother has been in and out of the hospital for 3 weeks fighting pancreatitus brought on by gallbladder issues, I sprained my ankle at work on ice, and it has all been physically, emotionally, and spiritually exhausting. I came into work tonight with an email in all capital letters, followed by a note in all caps (red font with yellow filler ofc) telling me I need to be more careful and I need to try harder because it makes everyone…

Legendary quitting speech by weatherman
I moved to Burnet, TX 2 weeks ago to live with my girlfriend & I got a job at Subway. I started the job like a week & a half ago & my girlfriend, who also works there, just told me that the manager is planning on firing me simply because I'm not “fast enough”. I try at that job everyday but no one has bothered to ACTUALLY train me & I had to guess & ask a ton of questions so much so to the point where I'm starting to feel completely stupud for asking. I'm still trying to look for other jobs but their pay rate is garbage & I can't have my girlfriend doing all the hard work. Its gotten so bad for me where I just broke down crying right now & I have plans of ending it all. I do apologize if this is the…
These days you gotta be sociable with your coworkers. It’s not enough to just be polite and civil. You need to read the room and try to fit in. If you’re an introvert, like myself, and you work with extroverts you’re bound to be misunderstood. You’ll be assumed to be unhappy in your work, that you don’t like anyone, or worst of all “not a team player.” Because…you don‘t want to catch up on the latest gossip with everyons else. Gossip about spouses, partners, friends, family, and especially each other or your boss. Or because you like having a quiet lunch alone instead of with everyone else. Or because you’re the only one who comes in and works the whole 8 hours and doesn’t talk much. Because, it’s nothing personal, you just prefer to go to work, do your job, get paid, go home. In an office full of self…
