Today I confronted my manager and our resort manager and we spoke about our declining numbers in the dept. We’ve lost 3 people in the last 2-3 weeks. Mostly due to lack of proper col raises, some couldn’t afford to come to work due to raising gas prices driving from an hour out and the lack of new people to ease the stress of the mounting work load. I suggested raises for all the remaining employees at least $4-6 to retain/ appreciate and raises of $2-3 to attract new employees. They declined all that so I went over on how screwed the dept and their revenue is gonna tank when only 4 people are here to do the work of 15. And let them know to prepare accordingly bc the other employees are exploring other options. It’s like they love losing money instead of making it. I don’t get it…

Leaving my transphobic workplace
Going to give my boss my two weeks notice today after my shift. A co-owner sent a transphobic joke in the work group chat, which made me, a non-binary person, uncomfortable. I mask as a cis woman at work, because I wasn't sure if they would be accepting. Now I have my answer. No more public humiliation, emotional lash outs, or customers who physically assault me.
Clean the bathrooms
I work for a very small company in the sign business. I was recently told by my boss that he was no longer hiring a cleaning service and I was to clean the bathrooms myself. I'm a graphic designer. He's saving a maximum of $80 a month. More reasons to leave.
We're returning to the office. 3 times a weeks on days that have been chosen by our department head. Our employees get paid shit. $19-20 in a major city (think LA, NYC big) whereas a studio will cost you at least $1000-1400. They get minimal raise (2%), shitty benefits etc. Now, they have to go back into the office for “collaboration”. One of our employees asked for some accommodation as they only have one vehicle that is shared by other family members AND they have a second job. All they asked was to have their “in office” days switched to other days. We could have accommodated this easily but we chose not to. All we had to was just literally change her schedule. The CEO of the company even makes a point in her email to accommodate but still, my boss CHOSE NOT to. Because apparently moving this employee's schedule…
Title pretty much says it. I'm leaving my job soon to start training for a new job. I've been in the application process for this new job for a long time, and everyone I work with has known that I'd be leaving eventually. I got the call a few days ago that my training for new job starts in about a month. I'm giving just over 3 weeks notice, because the boss is actually great. But this other guy I work with thinks I pretty much need to find and train a replacement for myself before I go. Hes also got the “noone wants to work these days” attitude. Fuckin boomers.
With today’s gas prices
Will delete if this is not appropriate for this sub. I work a 9-5 corporate at the junior level. I really do not give a single shit about the best outcome for the company. I dont care if I make a small mistake. I do not care about being a friendly person to my managers, the directors or to the other employees. I don't care enough to be enthusiastic about work. My performance review was kind of harsh and I just looked at my manager with a straight face (and laughed in my head) because I did not care thay my performance was inadequate (the criticism was not for the job itself but my attitude). Part of me feels ungrateful because my company aren't as bad as other companies and I get to do some cool projects that interest me without supervision (super rare at my level), but another part…
