I feel like any time someone brings up European companies it's to laud how well they take care of their employees and all the benefits and perks they lay on their workers company wide. So imagine my surprise when my company here in the US was bought out by a company HQ'd in Denmark, a country with one of the highest worker satisfaction ratings on the planet. A few weeks ago they enacted their first policy change. This change was to the attendance policy, where the number of sick and personal days we have was changed from six, to two days per calendar year. If I am sick or need to miss work for any reason more than twice per year, I will be written up and escalated to termination. Fuck this system
I work 40+ hours a week making 13 an hour (which is shitty but still above average for my state) and yet I still will probably get evicted next month cause I get no paid sick leave (had a covid scare) and missed half a month of work. My bosses compensation? a 100 dollar visa gift card…fuck this system and anyone who supports it.

I decided to suck it up and continue grinding until the annual review cycle finished. During the discussion where I got to find out my results I was told that I am unfit for the promotion and I will only be getting a 3% increase in terms of salary which doesn't even match the inflation happening in my country at all. I briefly interrupted my manager to let him know I am quiting, excused myself out of the Zoom call and drafted my letter of resignation. Still had to do my 1 month notice period, needles to say there was friction. During that time I found a job that pays double what I was making with better…
Death of A Salesman – Arthur Miller
Basically the titles says it all, like madam, I don’t want to be rude but please if you’re the one contacting me don’t make me work to get the most important detail of your “great opportunity”. I’m sick of it, is like if they want to get applications and have no other tactics. Grrrrrr!
No judgement about the sport you enjoy.
So, few months ago I accepted an offer to move to Germany to start working in a big company. At the time, they offered me a contract and, since I don’t have any experience and knowledge about the country and the job market, I accepted the offer so they also be supporting me with visa and moving things. But right now, I started realizing that I’m kind of underpaid since I got to know some of my colleagues has less experience and are also less educated in the field I work but even than earns more or almost the same. So far, I’m trapped in this situation and trying to figure out how I can get out of this. I don’t want to change jobs right now but I also feel very disgusted to have accepted this offer having a strange feeling that the company took advantage on me for…
