Background: I Started working at a start-up 3 months ago. A coworker and I got into the taboo conversation of salary… I was absolutely shocked to find out that they make $65,000 more than me. We both hold the same position with similar experience in our prior work. This taught me that I was absolutely terrible at negotiating. During my interview they refused to give me a salary range and I fell for the trap. It’s my fault 100% Long story short I find out that out of the 5 of us with this position, I am the only one that didn’t negotiate correctly. The rest have a similar salary to the coworker above. So here is my question. Is there anything I can do to renegotiate my salary? Obviously I would never speak about private coworker conversations. They are currently hiring someone new for a different product specialty (same…

“This is Mike. Once training was done with Shelby you were gonna be on my shift. I am your supervisor. We never officially met. I noticed that you wasn't here Saturday or Sunday. I just wanted to know what was going on with those days?”
managed to get an internship at a web design company. im extremely inexperienced but whatever, thought i might as well try. quickly realized i need a new laptop for the job as my old one is too tiny to handle all the files we have to download. so my grandparents helped me buy one specifically for this role. it cost £300 something which is the most we can afford. and it is really, really slow. it freezes every two minutes. it deletes my work and saved files. rn it has turned itself off and won't turn back on. i have no idea what i am going to tell my boss tomorrow. she is going be so mad. the company is already sick of my excuses and my lack of productivity/understanding. i'm pretty sure they're about to tell me this isn't working out. i should care more. i do care. this…
Tired of endless applications.
I have over 150 applications and all I have gotten is 1 interview where the manager said I was an “extremely strong candidate” then ghosted me and a couple rejection emails. I’m so tired I just need a damn paycheck. It doesn’t help that I live in a small town and I have no experience due to having to watch my younger siblings. Any advise is appreciated.

Finding a job while pregnant
So, I'm not sure if this fits here but it feels like it does. I am a recent law school graduate. I graduated with honors in the top of my class. I then worked for free as a law clerk for 4 months waiting on bar results. Everyone I worked with gave me rave reviews and recommended me for a permanent position. I interviewed and was told in the interview that they really liked me. I was then told that they didn't have the money to hire me and they wanted me to wait a few months until they got a new grant that would allow them to hire me. I continued applying to other places while I “waited.” It has now been 3 months. They just offered me a temporary, 6 month position, with no benefits as a “gap-filler” until they can afford to hire me. The position has…
So I work in a fab shop of sorts with a small handful of other employees. I've been there for several years and have unofficially become the shop foreman or floor manager or whatever just by nature of being the only person that knows how the place runs. I'm not a good manager – I absolutely hate telling people that they're wrong – but I know the process and everyone likes me, so it works out. My boss, who is also the owner, doesn't really know all the details of the work we do, but he used to do my job some 10 years ago and tends to think things are still the same as they were then. He mostly lets me do my thing and lets me assign tasks and run the shop, but in a way, he's kind of over-involved in some details like inventory management. I do…
I asked you if the price tag inside the item (it was a loose return label instead of a sticker) was correctly related to it. You said yes, and it was actually cheaper than what I expected. I told you it was an item I've been wanting for a long time (about $50-90 normally). I just looked up the number written on the receipt. It was definitely for another item of another category. Not sure if you did it on purpose or accident, but thank you
Cheap Boss won’t buy Toilet Paper
I work in a really small business (like 13 people) and our boss is just too cheap to buy Toilet paper. I'm having to bring my own from home, and it's really annoying. I wish he would just do it himself. Should I confront him about this? I really don't want to lose my job… EDIT: I tried to bring this up to my boss but when I went looking for him, he wasn't there. It was pretty early in the day, and I'm not sure where he would have gone or why he wouldn't be there. This happens so often… I just wish I knew where he was going all the time.
