We live in a time when most teachers can barely survive on their own and now they have to pay for student supplies. Many teachers are considered state employees. Change needs to start at the top. Maybe we should pay those governors a teachers salary and maybe they will change their minds
Like the title says, I don't know what it's like or have ever experienced working one job. Ever since I started working, i've held about 2-3 jobs at a time. Even when I got myself a salaried PT job, i still had two side jobs I did. I recently found myself landing a decently paid job and I find myself unable to leave my current job in fear of the new one not being permanent. I don't have much else to say tbh, I just wanted to share this. I am exhausted.
I’m currently looking for another job, but still working with my current company. Long story short, I worked my ass off last year and only got a 3% raise – which is a pay cut. I have an interview Thursday for another job, but on the job application it says to list 3 references. All my references for my jobs with similar duties to the job I’m applying for are with my current company. My current company doesn’t know I’m looking for another job (thanks to this sub, at least not until I know I have a better job). I’m pretty new to professional jobs so my only professional experience is with my current company. Who should I put down as a reference? I’m kind of at a loss here.
Downfall a must see on netflix
Its everyting wrong with capitalism. A great company who turns in to a stockmarket driven company who only cares for its shareholders. Profits above quality, safety. Money, money, money that is what matters. You see this momument of a company turn in something its own workers hate.
Charging money to apply to government

There were recently some articles about how Maine has recovered X dollars for workers who had their pay withheld? What proportion of that is against the total amount stolen or withheld? 20% 30? My freakin employer (who no longer operates in the state) owes me 12,500 for work performed last summer. This work definitely gave me Lyme disease as well If he decides to go bankrupt we’re all screwed. So I what, pray? Light dog shit on fire on his porch in the night? [Maine Dept of Labor can’t do much, recommend a class-action] This BS being protected is why I live paycheck to paycheck, analyze the bank account before thinking about a Dr. visit. Our socio-political contract is so broken. End of rant. Any other stories of people loosing tens (or hundreds) of thousands of dollars? Make me feel better.
