Edit: I don’t know how people that went to college are reading into this something I didn’t write. I am not saying your life is perfect, I actually didn’t mention you at all. I can understand your frustration as you feel more entitled to wealth as you spent more money being educated (because that’s what you were told to do). What I AM saying is that not having went to college and choosing other options doesn’t mean you deserve to be poor. ALSO, I’d like to clear up… if you have a degree, that is a privilege. I’m proud of you for finishing school. I really am. But you are NOT in the same boat as the rest of us without one. What should you do if you have any untenable issues? Strike. Where should all your energy be going towards fixing your future? Strike. Why should you continue working while foregoing your share of the profit margin? Strike. Who should be working substandard jobs? Strike. When should you Strike? You're not already?
Retail workers during lockdown.
After browsing this page and understanding the frustration in your posts I think this group would be the ideal place for my research. I am currently collecting data to understand the experiences and challenges you faced whilst working as an essential retail worker during lockdown/pandemic for my MSc dissertation. For example how your mental health changed or perception of workplace guidance given. In addition to open ended questions like above there are two short well being scales. It is completely anonymous and your input would really be valuable to this study. (18+ UK). Thank you for your time and the sharing of your experience. https://staffordshire.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_bDCTFggPO1uEQrY
Costco raise
Does Costco get a pass for a less than 3% raise this year because they pay cashiers $27+/hr? I thought the raise would be $1.50-$2 across the board based on past raises and was kind of shocked that it was $.75. They also put in smaller raises for the next 2 years.

And maybe “if you're going to increase starting wages for workers with no experience, you need to increase wages for the workers who have years of it and stayed loyal to you this long.”
I had floral and garden experience from working at Lowes years prior. A local florist was hiring. They noted my previous experience on my application, then they asked, “why didn't you apply for a job at Lowes then?” I answered, “I'm responding to your help wanted ad?” The interview was very awkward from there on.
