If you’re in your 30s and back with your parents, take what little solace you can in the fact that you’re far from alone

Figured I'd share my story since I see a lot of posts about people lamenting their being forced to move back in with their parents. I'm relatively new to this sub, but I figured I'd share my story. Twice in my adult life I've been forced to move back in with my parents. To this day I'm still living with them, with no end in sight. My first career was to be a gigging musician, and to toot my own horn I think I was pretty damn good at it. After getting my associates in science I dropped out of college to pursue playing full time. When I wasn't getting gigs through the local union I was getting studio time all over the place, and while I wasn't getting rich by any stretch of the imagination I was happy because I was independant and doing exactly what I wanted to…

Does anyone else cry before going into work because of the dread of working your shit ass job, with shit ass people, with shit ass pay, and you don’t have a choice cuz you need basic amenities to live?

Taxation is Theft but profit……. isn’t?

As tax season is coming up, it's obviously become a point of conversation in my friend group. Quite a few of them are Libertarians and I've heard them say “taxation is theft,” just one too many times. But when I bring up the idea that profits are actually way more like theft than taxes, I'm the idiot. Do they really not see it? On one hand you have a payment to the government to provide goods and services (note: I am not saying they are always spent wisely, we are talking idealistically here) and on the other you have surplus profit that YOU GENERATED being given to a billionaire that doesn't know you exist so they can buy another super yacht. Which seems more like theft to you? I don't know if any of you have had similar experiences but it is very frustrating being around people like that, especially…
