Figured I'd share my story since I see a lot of posts about people lamenting their being forced to move back in with their parents. I'm relatively new to this sub, but I figured I'd share my story. Twice in my adult life I've been forced to move back in with my parents. To this day I'm still living with them, with no end in sight. Taxation is Theft but profit……. isn’t?
As tax season is coming up, it's obviously become a point of conversation in my friend group. Quite a few of them are Libertarians and I've heard them say “taxation is theft,” just one too many times. But when I bring up the idea that profits are actually way more like theft than taxes, I'm the idiot. Do they really not see it? On one hand you have a payment to the government to provide goods and services (note: I am not saying they are always spent wisely, we are talking idealistically here) and on the other you have surplus profit that YOU GENERATED being given to a billionaire that doesn't know you exist so they can buy another super yacht.
