TLDR: Company blows off initial interview only to ask candidate to interview with 10 people. Job has been posted for 9+months (red flag) Applied to a job within my field of expertise that had been posted for 30+ days on LinkedIn. Got a reply from the recruiter within a few hours to set up a time to talk about the role. Day of call arrives and I have spent some time prepping to ensure I present my best self. Call time comes and goes, with no call. I check my email and see that 1 minute before the call was scheduled to start the recruiter emailed and said the position had been filled. I do not reply and go about continuing my job search. About 10 days later I see the same job has been posted again on LinkedIn. It takes about 10 more days for the recruiter to reach…

I was recently offered a position with company based in North Carolina. I live in Los Angeles, so the position is remote. I accepted however in my New Hire packet I am expected to fill out and sign, the company is requesting authorization to pull a credit report that they “may choose to secure and use information obtained in either a consumer report or investigative consumer report about you obtained from a consumer reporting agency when: (1) considering your application for employment (2)making a decision whether to offer you employment, (3) deciding whether to continue your employment or (4) making other employment-related decisions directly affecting you.” Before California I lived and worked in New York City and Colorado, all three have laws against using credit information to determine employment/promotion eligibility, so I was kind of shocked when this was requested of me (excuse my ignorance). There are some instances when…
My supervisor has never done this before he clocked me out a hour early and didn’t say anything to me is this legal? I don’t know the proper protocol for this.
quit my job a year ago this week

Up until last year I was also working at a warehouse, generally believing that without that job I'd not be able to subsist primarily off of self-employment money. The work itself was really not that bad compared to some of the stuff I read about on here, but it was painfully boring (like 10 hrs of remedial study hall a day) and after a series of annoying events (getting passed up for promotion, having to come in on days off, getting talked down to, getting these offensive boxes of junk food in lieu of a cash xmas bonus, having to go to work during lockdown) i decided i'd just quit for a few months and if I ran out of money I'd just go work for another warehouse for a better rate. But today I realized I'm…
