Lied to about raise
I was promoted at Burger King sometime last year, about 7 months ago. Direct deposit doesn’t come with paper check stubs, so I never noticed if it was on there until I checked ADP. No raise. Only lies.
I am absolutely miserable. To say I loathe coming to work would be a heavy understatement. I know that I am not happy, and to be quite honest, I think my job knows I am on the brink of quitting. How much much would you do for $3.50 an hour? Plus tip pool…. between 200 people. I am a bartender at a country club, and I am only allowed to have my tip jar out for non-member events. Why? Because the members complained, and said, “We pay to be here, so we shouldn’t have to tip.” My bosses will tell me to take my tip jar DOWN. What am I even doing there if I’m not making money? I’m a new mom, and have to make sure my family is taken care of… and I will do that at any cost. But I’m pretty much breaking even, if that…. I…
I've been working in a busy grocery store the past few months, it's been tough but my coworkers were some of the best I've had and it's unionized so I didn't mind the hard work. After Christmas trucks starting getting delayed and omicron started making things difficult. I noticed my boss who I had been getting along with started getting more and more frustrated and started taking it out on his staff verbally. He had made a few rude comments to me but I let most of them go as I understand he's stressed. Today I was doing a frozen order and with 4 hours left in my shift he said he wanted 5 skids done before I left. I was also doing this alone. I calmly told him I didn't feel confident that I could finish in time, and that I hadn't taken any of my breaks yet. I…
Inflation issues are a damn lie.
Most countries have been open for at least a year now. All unemployment benefits related to the pandemic ended in Sept. I can order a fucking dinglehopper on wish and get it at the same speed as pre-COVID. Where are these “supply chain issues”? Or do you think this is a capitalist playground now where if companies make less product, hire fewer workers, they can charge whatever the fuck they damn well please and turn every product into a rat race? Thoughts?
A hostile environment is pretty clear cut and dry when explicit sexual content is permitted to repeatedly appear and thrive. People should not have to be subjected to discussions between the anchors of their masturbation habits, jokes about prophylactics, discussions of the size of the size of Donald Trump's penis, and full on explicitly detailed descriptions of rape. It's been playing in my break room for probably more than a decade. I'm tired of being forced to listen to the filthy way that their anchors speak while I am trying to eat. I'm talking to HR tomorrow morning about it. Are you?
