Sympathy is what keeps us controlled
Anyone ever feel like being a helpless Morty, being controlled by the Ricks?
This is the same boss who ate half of my lunch before. That didn’t get resolved btw, but never happened again (needless to say, I was more careful about my food). Few days ago, she wanted to touch up her face before a meeting and asked to borrow some of my makeup. I gave her my makeup bag and she returned it shortly after. The next day, I noticed that my favorite glitter eyeshadow was missing and just… I want to ask her about it, but I’m worried it might sound like I’m accusing her of stealing. Should I just let it go and get a new one?
We Need You
No successful societal change has ever happened without a clearly organized movement. Martin Luther King realized that “those who love peace must be as organized as those who love war” in order to affect real change to our society. Most people operate on hope, but hope is the idea that someone else, someone other than ourselves, is going to do the work. Truth is, we’d be better off without it. The hard truth is, no one is going to do the work but us. We must do the work. We must organize, we must organize as effectively as those who love war. Imagine then, a military without weapons, an army without guns, an organization ready to mobilize its energy and resources throughout the world on a moment’s notice. Imagine hundreds, no…thousands, no… millions of people singing the same song, operating under the same belief that corporate corruption is wrong and…
My friend suffered an injury (I’m not sure yet if it’s a work related injury) and she had to stay in the hospital because of this injury. She cannot stand for very long because it is painful- she does have a doctors referral to not use a lot of strain or pick up heavy things, the job has all of her medical records too form this. I just don’t know what else she can do, since no one will give her less hours, and I know they can because they give two other older women less hours. Trying not to give to much detail because of her privacy but this job makes us stand for 9 hours with one lunch in between She is sitting when she can now, but she has to stand when there is a customer, but it’s still rough on her

Context: I’ve been working at a fairly popular fast food chain for around 3 years. I work a 5 day week and get paid barely minimum wage. What happened: a couple of days or so ago, big boss man who owns all of the restaurants for this particular brand in the region comes in. He does this every now and again, checks up on how the restaurant is, fixes anything that needs to be fixed, etc. He’s been doing this since long before I ever started working here, and then one day he has the gall to tell my supervisor to tell me off for not wearing the “correct attire” (didn’t even tell me himself). So y’all can get a bit of context, the “correct attire” is dark coloured denim jeans along with the company shirt (provided). I was wearing dark coloured pants (not denim cuz denim’s fucking expensive). Now,…
People need jobs – Jobs need people
My first job ever was at a small landscaping company owned by a friend of my Dads. The pay was crap, the work sucked and I had no idea what I was doing. But I was a gamer kid who had never touched tools really so it was whatever. My boss was cool but did not mess around if you pissed him off. We had 4/5 employees and 3 trucks. It was my first job so I was pretty much a Yes Man my first two years, doing some of the dumbest jobs you could think of. I used my own truck to get to jobs and rarely ever got reimbursed for gas money. I was the only one willing to do certain jobs. I did most of my work by myself and ended up running a truck and trailer by the end of the year because another employee got…
Average Seat Cost: $7,542. Seats: 70,000. Total: $527,940,000. Over half a billion dollars just from seating. They don't need or deserve our money or our attention. Then, factor in the income from advertising, food, drinks, merchandise, etc. They're expecting millions of eyes on this. They're expecting to make billions and pay their workers pennies. They don't need or deserve our money or our attention. Make the Super Bowl a non-event. Make boycotting the Super Bowl and sending a message the event. The message? The billions came from us. Never forget that. We won't. Here are some fun suggestions I have for your Super Bowl 2022 Boycott Day: Connect with family and friends however you safely can. Go to the gym, exercise, or go for a long walk. Play Football. You probably need the exercise. And it's fun. Volunteer work. Do what you did on Saturday again. Saturday…
Prices are rising for everything in Australia but our wages here remain the same. Millions of Australians are working but are still unable to make ends meet due to the rising costs of rent, food, transport, fuel. https://www.change.org/p/current-centrelink-payments-below-poverty-line The petition is linked above, if you could give it a read and a signature it would be much appreciated. Families are suffering due to this crisis
