Hey all! I'm a 39/F and I work in IT. I had a good job for a large media conglomerate for the last four months, however, the place just kept getting more and more toxic. I had a septoplasty about a week and a half ago, and I've been home recovering, and yesterday I got the Sunday Scaries. Yesterday was a Wednesday. I decided to just erase my work computer, go to my office, drop it off and leave, and they're lucky I even did that because if I hadn't left my sweater behind, I would have just ghosted. I don't post here or browse often be.cause honestly I like keeping busy. My opinion, you can have your own. But why the hell do I have to go through so many hoops to submit resumes? I have a pdf of the information so why can't I just link to that? It's bullshit. They know we need to submit a ton of applications all over the place to get a decent job but they basically 3e you work before you even get the damn job. A.nd then they don't even contact you at all or give you an interview most of the time. All the bullshit surrounding these corporations have pushed me from libertarian to libcenter. We need more workers rights in America. It's insane and things aren't going to end well if they keep treating people like shit while not even giving them enough to live a comfortable life.…

I went to a bbq at my apartment today to interact with the community and get some sun after work. The people next to me talked about their work the entire time. I left bc I just couldn’t anymore.

This is something that bothers me when I hear people refer to their employer or manager as “their boss” or I made a mistake at work and will be “disciplined”. I think it feeds into the mindset everyone hates that we complain about here. It gives them too much of a power trip. I mean we aren't on a chain gang here. I guess they are just words but I never use them. I just say manager or whatever they are, can't think of a good replacement for discipline but screw that too, we're not in grade school.

This is an old story of mine. I worked at Macy's in high school. I got home from school and my mom tells me my boss called and yelled at her because I wasn't at work that morning. Thing is leaving work a few days prior I had looked up my next weeks schedule. I guess over the next two we got a new boss who redid the schedule. He scheduled me to work Monday morning when I was in school. I called him back. I was so glad to be dealing with the garbage as soon as I walked in from school. Guy was rude. Uni student here- i work part time all thru the school year, and summers I work full time at a theme park. Took about 2 months off (couldn't find another job) before returning to said theme park. Im so tired. I hate my job so much and dread going in everyday. There's nothing wrong with my work environment (i serve food/drink/beer all day) and people are mainly pleasant, but when I go home and have to do anything but sleep i literally cant. I used to have not a lot, but a little bit of energy to pursue my passions and hang out with my SO- now I have none. Help? (P.s. yes i am medicated for anxiety and depression. Also malnutrition might be a part? No idea) (P.p.s. i make 17.50/hr and work 40/45 hrs a week)

My manager just recently hired her daughter to work the front of house as a host which is also my job title, now my schedule is 1 shift a week while her daughter has 4-5 a week, I was getting about 4 a week before she got hired, thankfully I have a second job but this is still bs

We have been butting heads , she’s ignorant and controlling and loves to micro manage , she doesn’t update me with the rules in the store just to set me up but she updates our other associate. Anyways this Monday I forgot to throw out the garbage and she decided today to give me a verbal warning and wanted me to sign the paper , I told her I’m not signing it and I saw things on the paper that she listed that she didn’t even discuss with me . I honestly want to quit , she got my store manager fired as well and now she’s managing the store .

My department is hiring a position junior to mine. With the new salary transparency law in my companies state I saw that this position pays more than my salary, and not by a little. I felt like I was punched in the gut. I felt so stupid and both incredibly angry and terribly sad. My boss was away when the job was posted so I sat with it which may have been a good thing to calm down and calculate the best plan of action for ME. I talk to my boss letting him know I won't accept this and it needs to get fixed asap or I will likely quite. He apologizes saying that he didnt even know what the salary band was going to be posted and he had no input on compensation for the new role. I believe him.
