I went looking for an office job in a field I understand and tech support at AT&T was offering 1400 euros for it so Im going for it. I already did all the onboarding and the interview with them and they scheduled my start earlier in august but then pushed the date further. The job itself only required a high school level education, one reason why I went for it, and for the pay it was offering I thought it was good. However now Im getting anxious about the job even being real. Not in a sense that the company is fake more that the company itself is using me for some kind of tax payout and theyll fire me three weeks into training. Should I be wary and if so, is there any more advice about AT&T ?

I contribute to the company's social media accounts and will occasionally see inappropriate comments on our social media pages and in our private Facebook group. Some comments are sexist or sexual in nature, and make me uncomfortable. My boss does nothing to curb this conduct from customers. Would this count as a hostile work environment?
By Ontario law, I'm entitled to 10 PTO (paid time off) days per year. I'm not interested in spending them all at once and being bored with nothing to do for 2 weeks. I'd much rather extend my weekends and take Fridays off for 2.5 months. That would be a lot better spreading the time out rather than getting bored of free time in the span of 2 weeks. I can use those 10 days however I see fit. Yet the owner is against me using the days like this and claims I'm untrustworthy. What do I say to this fucker?
My girlfriends boss keeps changing her schedule at the last minute despite the schedule having been established for MONTHS. For context her job schedules her to WFH on Saturday’s and last Friday she was told she would need to be in the office on Saturday. She is concerned it is going to happen to her again this week. Wondering what the antiwork folk think about this. We live in Colorado BTW.
Interesting Simon Johnson interview
Thought some of you might find this as interesting as I did. It’s an interview from yesterday’s Letters and Politics radio show on KPFA with Simon Johnson, professor for Global Business at MIT. He is quite critical over the reasoning’s for the automation-craze going on for substituting positions held by lower wage workers. His thoughts were a breath of fresh air and well formulated.
If you are going to take down my post for breaking the rule of no screenshots of media sources, then take down all of them that are like that. Y'all are about to start going down the path of Rules for thee but not for me. Absolute hypocrisy.
Boss paying less because I’m injured.
Hey, so I work in a restaurant in a dining hall, we make base pay $15 plus tips. And last week I injured my ankle so I’ve been on limited work( not a work related injury) basically just not able to carry heavy things and a little slower moving around. My boss told me that since I was injured and couldn’t complete as much work as normal I would only be getting half the amount of tips I normally make. I don’t think this is very fair because I could have easily just not come into work this week, and taken off like the doctor said. And also I’m doing my best and trying to still get as much done as possible, I’m not a lazy worker, I find great satisfaction in doing a good job and I’ve been with this company for two years so it hurts that they…
Sorry this kinda of long and if its in the wrong place let me know. I'm cool with most people at work and can tolerate the rest. This happened in 2019/2020. The guy im going to talk about, is on the tolerate side of the coin. I know he see's me talking and getting on with other people at work, I talked to him as well but only a little, because I dont speak much spanish and he doesnt speak much english. He grabbed my shoulder one time after we talked, I didnt think much of it because why should I? But as time goes on I noticed he kept tugging at my work shirt and tapping me with papers as he passed by my work station. After I started noticing it becoming a habit for him, I asked him with onebody to stop. He said ok and chuckled. A…
