And when i tell my shift leader that I’m going to call off tomorrow with a DR. Note she tells me. “You can’t call off for having a sore throat. You need to be dying.” I work at a hospital to. Now she’s telling my manager that I was working fine all weekend and not to believe I’m sick. Wtf

Fired for talking sh*t haha
Could go on forever about things wrong with this shit show of a restaurant. Delayed pay schedule , Manipulation , no OT pay but forced to work OT. The wanna be manager , who they recently made manager , bitched at me and my coworker for talking about our pay and I couldn’t take it any more . Started yelling that I fucking hate this place and that I was going to walk out right now. I come in today , do my shift , a few hrs later after I clock out , I’m completely removed. I regret not just walking out.
Told to turn in phone during work?!?!
I work as a server at a shitty seafood place. We sell seafood boils and fried food the chefs basically heat shit up. Anyways we had a meeting tonight and my manager told everyone that we would now be required to turn in our phones during work. I have been there for over 2 years and just today got a compliment from my table that wanted to tell the manager. I think this is absolutely crazy and goes above and beyond what they are allowed to do. I'm 38 years old not a child. Noone else really said anything when I started to argue so I got kinda upset and walked out. Was I wrong or are these people crazy?
Every Friday for the past 4 weeks, My manager won't let me leave on Friday after shifts over w/o a problem. I am scheduled 12- 8pm but I leave at 9 to help out, but can't stay longer. Every single Friday, she yells at me, and get mad at me for not staying til 10 because I have to babysit my 7yo sister because my mom leave for work at 9:30. Today, I found out she schedulede me for 2-10 on Fridays. Now, she will legally bind me to a schedule that doesn't work for me.
what i mean by that, is split the shifts to 2 or more parts, so that you can clock in for 2 hours, clock out for lunch or something for a hour, clock back in for 4 hours, clock out for picking up family members, like picking up kids from school, etc. then go back and clock back in for the last 2 hours? seems logical to me, so i don't see why that can't be a thing. gives people time to rest and be with families, and makes stuff flexable. and you can clock in whenever, just as long as you clock in within a 24 hour period. most people are responsible people. also why can't you remotely control a robot from home to work? i watched a show that featured a hospital that had a robotic doctor that was controlled by the doctor himself working from home, i…
Anyone struggle to keep a job?
In my head I feel like I’m so somebody in life that won’t allow some boss to run over me. As if I’m something special. I ain’t smart and clever to start my own business and work for myself and earn. But there are millions of people who work for others like a company or institution to get paid and living life like buying food and paying for rent/ bills. In my head I just don’t like the idea of working for someone else because there is always someone superior than me that I have to follow the rules and regulations. Being underneath the top management of company like a manager, supervisor and what not. This idea of working paycheck to paycheck and save as much as you could then spend the rest on daily essentials of living life. Some jobs are so strict that don’t give you a raise.…
A glimmer of hope
I’ve been super down and out about my job and how horrible my managers are and how the company I work for is complete dog shit, but I just remembered when one time when I was working at a sandwich shop, a travel nurse tipped 80 dollars on a 8 dollar sandwich. Was a really really moving experience for me to see kindness out of someone. I was making minimum wage at the time. We shouldn’t have to receive tips to make a livable wage and I’m sure that guy knew that and wanted to make our days better. Unionize and take care of one another.
