Without disclosing too much information, there was an accidental data leakage incident and I feel as if I’m about to lose my job. My boss told me to “prepare” and there have been other signs. My question is, is there anything I should be doing? Drag things out for as long as I can? Put off training people they want me to train? What questions should I ask about severance/PTO/health insurance? Obv. I am applying to jobs, but unfortunately my current employer required us to make our primary email on linked in our work email, so it’s a bit difficult. Advice??

Sketchy Background check?
I work at a big box store, and occasionally drive to other locations to help out. Apparently I'm so competent that I run my department well enough that I can be spared to help other stores catch up, without falling behind myself, but am still not eligible for a raise…I digress. Anyway. Since I drive to other stores I was given a form to fill out basically promising that I take responsibility for my driving and won't sue the company or whatever. They also required my driver's license number (I thought that was weird but didn't question it at the time). But then they said I needed a background check too. This was the first page for me to fill out. I stopped and asked the assistant mgr wtf. He thought it was weird too, but shrugged it off and said he'd tell the store manager I wasn't comfortable with…
The rich worried about threat from the poor. Nothing has changed for hundreds of years. Time for a visionary.
Weird Job..
Hello all, so I have an interesting story? Well… I work for a company and I finally made it to a year there. Woohoo, whatever. But here’s the thing, I have not been assigned a single job assignment this entire year. If I do get an assignment, it’s often with little to no instruction and if I were to ask for assistance I am never offered it. I got something assigned today for the first time in a literal year and of course had no idea what to do, I expressed this to a manager of mine and got no response. This particular assignment was due at end of day.. I just never completed it and my manager didn’t even reply to the message I sent with my concerns. I’m not sure what to do at this point, it sounds like a dream not having work at work but there’s…
I’m a foster care worker in Michigan (I’ve been at my job for 4 months now) and I have 14 cases I work with. Recently, someone at my job left, and I was transferred one of her cases that had one child, bringing me from 13 to 14 cases. I was told by my supervisor that I now have a full caseload and that I would be getting a raise. Turns out, I’m only getting a $100 check. Is this normal? The new case is closing soon due to the bio parent being AWOL for so long, but I’ve never heard of someone only getting one $100 check as a “raise”.
My employer talked to me last night and saud to me that I am really professional with work, and seem trustworthy so they decided to give me this admin task of handling the password software. I work at a department that mainly focuses on designing. I feel the task is being passed on to me is more of admin stuff, and it will be a burden for me when things get busy. I said No, and was told that they will still consider giving this to me. Help. Pls. How should i respond?
This makes me smile. Not me…
I’ve worked at this job for 2.5 years. They give raises once a year and i’ve only gotten one raise the entire time working, of .75 cents. We got a new general manager about a month after my last review. When i got this first raise, I was told that considering how hard i work i would be put up again for another raise in 6 months. Before my manager switched locations i asked her if she could make a note for the new manager so that i would be up for review even with her gone , considering she’s making an acceptation that normally isn’t made i wanted to be sure there was no miscommunication. this is my money that we’re talking about and i already make not even enough to live alone. (i live in dc and make a little over $15 an hour) Raises are this month,…
