Because I had full open availability. That is all, don’t even know what to say anymore I guess it looks like I have too much free time on my hands to be worth hiring? How do we even get a job now let alone a job that even pays enough to survive?

I know I am not obligated to share any of those details, but I’m certain the question will be asked. What’s the best way to respond? The last time I did this my employer at the time asked me and I told them. Again, it was for a competing company so I definitely felt a lot of awkwardness the final two weeks. In my current situation; I wish I could give notice and just be done for a couple of weeks, but I know that’s not very professional. Any other tips appreciated when giving notice.
