Instead of raises, us teachers were given trial sized Bath and Body works lotion and a crystal. Note the bottom about concentrating on abundance. And they wondered why we all quit. I think I kept it because I was shocked they even thought this was a good idea. My sister still has hers and she left after me. That school was the worst. Insert “Why don't people want to be teachers anymore??”. Crap like this is why. Also found out they were pocketing our bonuses so that was great.

Whereas a Boomer is someone who sits under the shade long overstaying their welcome and denying anyone else a chance, then as they're finishing with it just burn it to the fucking ground so future generations can't enjoy it… Basically what i'm saying is the average Boomer is anti-society. That's all I wanted to vent really.
I work for a gym with multiple locations. There have been sweeping layoffs/firing. When I got an email stating that the COO and membership manager were let go I knew that the lower level staff was next. I knew that I wanted to volunteer for layoffs, on the conditions I collect unemployment, and have a possibility to return to the company in the busy season (winter). I live in my vehicle and have a low cost of living so me loosing the job isn't as bad as someone paying rent. I had a conversation with the HR manager and said I'd volunteer. He was tight lipped and said he'd keep it in mind. Fast forward a week or so, another email detailing that 25% of the staff was being “reduced” and we'd find out if we were part of that by a specific date. Like I said I knew it…
Luckily, I received a different job offer a few days prior….but this feedback has really bothered me. Two out of 3 points of feedback relate to researching the company. Which is just madness really. Isn't that what they should be teaching people once they're hired? Why are we having to prove our understanding of their mission prior to interview? Granted, point 3 is useful, if you want to get better at those sorts of questions.
i’m an amazon delivery driver and yesterday there was a box of almond flour that spilled in the back of my van and got on my hands and shirt, i had to leave “early” (already overtime) so i could go home and shower to make sure i didn’t go into anaphylaxis. my face got puffy and whole body itchy so i texted out this morning. my anxiety about my allergies has been really bad lately and i’ve called out a few times in the last couple weeks but this wasn’t the anxiety, it was the actually allergy and my safety at risk. last time i had a reaction like this it got worse the second day so i needed to make sure i was home today in case it got worse again.
