Hello I already tried to post this under a dif username but right now i dont care how anonymous I am. My work is doing reviews this time of year. I am a manager in a production /manufacturing sector making 57k, my department has been short handed and they won't hire anyone for over $20 an hr but now they are saying they're not even getting applications. You need design skills and school to do this job. We had our highest sales last month in the history of our company. Multiple millions. Due to inflation my salary is pretty much shit now and I have been working 46-55 hours a week consistently but no overtime pay. Benefits are decent half paid health insurance and dental, stock ownership plan, & 15 days off for usa. I was going to ask for 66k which would be my 2021 salary adjusted for inflation…

How do you survive working 9-5?
I have an objectively good job, but I hate it. The people are okay, the management style is fairly hands off. I don't really like the work and it's fairly pointless, but there isn't too much of it and it's mostly remote. I'm realizing that, even if I end up having a great job that I do well at, I will always resent my job. I don't have a ton of fun on afternoons and weekends, but I desperately look forward to them. I want to have more of my own time. As a student, it's weird to me that people have just accepted that 9-5 5 days a week is standard and it's (therefore) okay to lose so many of your waking hours, especially if you have a long commute.

Biden came through on sick days
“We’re thankful that the Biden administration played the long game on sick days and stuck with us for months after Congress imposed our updated national agreement,” Russo said. “Without making a big show of it, Joe Biden and members of his administration in the Transportation and Labor departments have been working continuously to get guaranteed paid sick days for all railroad workers.
I’ve been at my company for 5 years. The past year and 3 or 4 months has been hell. I was moved teams without being consulted. This then has led to the worst year of my working career. I’ve been looking for a new job and finally found one that pays better and seems like a good fit. I know the grass isn’t always greener but at least it’ll be different. My boss is on vacation next week. I found out I got the job on Friday. I’ll be giving my two weeks on Monday. I guess I’ll be giving it to her boss in person and then CC-ing her on the email? Any advice?
Yeah thats what it is!
