Boss has an issue if we pick up lunch with company vehicle. We are plumbers and don't have any other form of transportation when we are out doing jobs all day. How are we supposed to go about going and getting lunch?
Why cashiers in the US do not sit down?
I am European and I always find it bizarre when I go to groceries shopping in the US that all cashiers are standing there for 6-8. Why, cashier can do same job while standing and sitting down.
I’ve been at my job for 2 years now and it’s honestly been a pretty miserable experience. I work in a lab and have been more or less stuck here because there aren’t a lot of job opportunities in my field where I live. In the 2 years I’ve worked here I have called out 5 times. I don’t feel like this is an excessive amount, but HR has told me I’m in violation of the attendance policy and if I call out one more time I’ll be let go. This just seems like bullshit to me. I pick up overtime all of the time because we are chronically understaffed and come in every time they call me. I’ve been stuck working overnights this entire time even though I wasn’t hired for it because of staffing issues and I feel like I’m going crazy. I guess I’m just looking for…
Hey everyone. I really think this story is so funny and absurd that I could not resist sharing it here. This will be long cuz I’m very detailed lol I had been working as an asst manager at a retail store for literally 4 days when this happened. Last week I clocked in 10 mins late to work. I was very upset with myself for being late but it had been raining and the roads where I am are kinda dangerous. Plus it’s hard to see, so I drove a little slower. Sue me. Anyway, I arrived 10 mins late expecting to be confronted for it. Nothing I would’ve been mad about or taken personal, I should be on time. What I was met with instead was the silent treatment and alienation the whole day. The store manager pretty much ignored me the entire morning except for an aggravated “greeting”…

I’m Freaking Out
Hey everyone, I need some advice on if this is normal or not. Last year, I finished my degree in communications and journalism media studies. I've been desperate to find a job in the marketing/creativity field. I have 2 internships in marketing and journalism, but have not had any luck in finding a job that pertains to my degree, even tho I have had countless interviews and applications submitted. I have had to work in banking and receptionist positions, which are okay but not really what I want to do since I really want to use my degree instead. I had an interview Wednesday a couple days ago and I thought it was my best interview yet, I was sure I would get the job. The guy that interviewed me said he really really liked me, and said I am a top candidate. It was for an admin assistant/Receptionist type…

Just interviewed for a bussing position at a restaurant owned by a company i previously worked for. Figured the moneys good for easy work especially to do on the side for just a couple hours a week. Interview the first time yesterday and it went great and was told to come back today. Where I was supposed to interview with the manager that is over all the bussers. But instead I interviewed with someone else. She sat on her phone the entire time and kept me waiting awhile before calling me back. She was on a call and texting while trying to interview me, didn’t respect me at all. She asked why I’d choose to apply as a busser. Which I found weird. She said “why’d you choose busser?” And looked borderline disgusted and confused. Before telling me they already hired a busser and believes the whole team to be…
