Do this in job interviews before you start, take it into consideration even if you decide to take the job, the policy they have should inform how much notice you give before you quit. If you know going in that they will get rid of you without notice then they don’t get notice when you leave. If they will give a week’s notice you give them one week instead of two. Give them only what they give you.
Category: Antiwork
Job hunting is a joke these days. Annoying as my job is, I have it better than most of the things I’m finding while job hunting. Is it really insane to want to work no more than 32 hours a week and make more than $23 an hour?? Preferably at home or hybrid because why do I need to look at you ppl everyday? Smh Just venting but really: is this an unreasonable request? Do you think things will shift for the better or are we all just destined to be subjects to their bullshit slave wage sell your soul offers forever?
I hate this phrase. It’s fucked up when people tell the worker not to internalize mistreatment, micromanagement, or demoralizing bosses, instead of acknowledging that the boss’ behavior is toxic. It shouldn’t be the workers’ job to not feel anxiety/depression over how a boss is treating them. It’s the BOSS who needs to work to change their behavior.
Question about final paycheck laws in CA
Hello I resigned from my current position today, however I wasnt working, I just texted my boss. Anyways, they “dont trust the postal system and dont want to be held liable” for mailing my check to me. Instead theyre requesting I come in person. I dont want to, and I aint gonna. Dont have the time nor desire to talk to any of them. Whats California law state in regards to final paycheck? Do I have to come in or do they have to mail it, if requested? Anyone know the code off the top of their head? Viva la revolucion!

Check Your Hours Paid
This happened at my first job out of college as a graphic designer in the mid-90s. I got a job at a business card printing place. I was usually working 10 to 14 hour days, 5 days a week. This meant always overtime on the pittence they paid me. The owner's wife took over doing accounting on our paychecks. I start getting suspicious after a few months that my pay did not seem right. I made a copy of my timecard and then looked at our my hours payed. It was off. I went to confront her about why my missing hours. I say this day I worked 11:45, eleven hours forty-five minutes. She say yes, so that is entered as 11.45 hours and then backs it up that she has down payroll at other places before. I try to argue that is not how the math works. She won’t…
A little Wisdom
Just thought I’d share this. I’m a seasoned IT professional at this point in my career, 24 years of experience. If you are currently employed and want to ascend the corporate ladder, get a better title/pay, or even better benefits… here’s the best advice I got and followed. I was working as a Network Engineer for a Warren Buffet owned company for several years. I went .. studied my butt off, got 3xCCNP certifications, passed my CCIE written and was planning to take my lab. But, anytime a Sr position came open, I was always passed over or they brought in someone new. One day, out of frustration I was complaining to my ex-Wife, who is a SVP for Hyatt, MBA, etc., about how I could never get promoted. Here’s what she said: You are doing it wrong. Loyalty to company and Loyalty to employees died after the 2008 recession.…
