I was aggressively offered the IT man job at a small county office. The day to day was turning things off and on again and replugging loose cords. I may have had to do some general high school AV club level stuff for special occasions. The complicated part was putting together budget plans for new and replacement equipment and software licensing. Was assured anything above that they used a 3rd party contractor from the big city. The job posting was wanting all the usual certs and experience, but guy who was leaving said he would put in a good word for me. I hope I worded that so it's understandable. So my direct manager was very nice and pushed for me to get a raise. His boss caved and agreed to give me one but made my manager lecture me about how much time I've been taking off. (Also they call them unapproved absences which is so insulting it's like we are children) He then admitted that I'm getting my work done in under the time they expect it too be done (even with all the days I have been out). Wall to wall , top headline news intricately described and fed to us because BILLIONAIRE tourists died on this expensive expedition . Every other week we here of many (migrant) PEOPLE dying trying to cross the waters for a better life but it’s only small non story like attention. I didn’t know where to post this but, when one of them die it’s a tragedy but when poor people die it’s an every day occurrence. May they RIP like all the souls who depart this earth.

A particular manager is failing to comply with procedures to request IT resource and is trying to get round it at every turn and jump the queue. This is stressful for all concerned and other managers waiting for IT resource not impressed they need to follow protocols and fill in forms to get resource while this one doesn't bother and gets accommodated. Her resource requests typically have no business case justification, which the procedure she is trying to avoid asks for. She just wants more time saving toys for her personal convenience- none resulr in the company saving time or resource. She is misusing the IT helpdesk to lie things are “broken” when in actual fact nothing is broken, she is fishing for IT development instead of following the proper procedure.
