My company has recently installed a mandatory 2 days in the office policy “to support company culture” but this is severely impacting my life. When working from home I was on time, completed all of my tasks and was completely balanced with my systems. We go into the office Tuesdays and Thursdays and I find this schedule entirely disruptive and I’ve been late pretty much everyday since this change, do you think it’s possible to get working from home as an accommodation under ADA? Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks!
Turning down pay increase, additional vacation time, $7500 contract bonus and other benefits, the union members overwhelmingly voted to reject the companies offer AND to strike. Only through solidarity can we truly benefit! The union members know they have Boeing over a barrel with 737 production and are exercising their power of collective bargaining to improve their members lives. I am so excited that they are making the stand, especially since IAM members in Washington state (Everett, Seattle, etc) have a contract with Boeing that expires next year. Join a union, support unions, buy union made goods. Our system is out of whack and unsustainable. Workers need better pay and benefits. The most effective way for that is collective bargaining. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cnbc.com/amp/2023/06/22/boeing-supplier-spirit-aerosystems-stops-production-at-wichita-plant.html
Walking out of Wendy’s.
So my best friend and I were hired together at Wendy’s. He wants to quit by no call no show. I convinced him if he comes in today I will walk out with him during the dinner rush. So here goes nothing knowing that we will be walking out when it gets busy.
OSU cancels staff/faculty winter break
I don't know, if this or another article about this case was posted here, but I thought people here might find this interesting. https://www.cnn.com/2023/06/20/business/california-restaurant-fake-priest-fine/index.html
So I work in an office setting, this is a new job I'm working as a receptionist. If I had to guess how many actual hours of real work I've done in the past two weeks.. ah.. maybe like 4-6 hours combined? Currently I set up for luncheons if we have luncheons, order lunches for bi monthly meetings, order birthday cake if we have birthdays, tidy up the break room, occasionally do time entry, occasionally print things for people, validate parking, turn lights on in the lobby, ect. The majority of my day is spent on my phone. How do I feel less bad about that? I've heard on other places on social media about people complaining about those who are on their phone during work, mostly from managers and supervisors. I've had jobs where I've had a 7 hour day and worked for 6.5 of those, non stop. I'm…
Did I get screwed
I left a commission job on March 28th. With the way the commission was setup, I've finally gotten my last check today. That's on time with the pay schedule, no issues there. However on March 10th I changed my 401k contribution to zero and the first week of June I rolled over all the balance in the account to my personal 401k. Well. My last check has 401k contributions taken out of it. Company tried to say they never got my request to change my contribution, even though I have a copy of the email confirmation and my other checks didn't have contribution. I'd hate to have to take the hit on taxes a second time to move my balance over. Is there anything I can do?
I’m staying at a hotel that’s part of a major chain in Northern Minnesota. The General Manger checked us in and mentioned there would only be housekeeping upon request and that the on site restaurant in only open on Friday and Saturday nights because she can’t find help. When I asked why, she said people just don’t want to work and if she hires someone, they quit after a few weeks. A sign in the lobby stated the pay was $12.00/hr, mandatory weekends, and if applying for a front desk position mandatory overnights. I think I found her problem.
