Now former Employer, Volunteers of America Ohio and Indiana, decided to do something one would only hear of from Goodwill, threatened to make me “unhirable” in the company on my last day for having to leave five minutes early, something management knows i have to, to catch the first bus of three to get home. I already have a new job aligned ever since they messed with my schedule up a week ago, but can ya’ll believe the nerve? We only make 11 an hour, 90 cents above state minimum wage in Ohio. Employers should not act like this, or yell at employees for having to go home due to public transit.

Makes me want to quit without notice since they cut hours without notice either. “Hey boss, yeah sorry i’m quitting today found a new job. No i’m not giving you a notice because the last guy that did you cut his hours to only working two days. What’s that? It’s unfair? Well it’s not fair that you’re cutting pay that people live off of and you get to keep your salary, I start tomorrow and don’t worry about where i’m working at. Good Riddance and Good Bye”

Real trickled down economy
I work in fast food as a manager & i find it very creepy when our supervisor texts us in the group chat saying that he can “see what’s going on” & tell us to correct the issue. Like, why are you watching us like that? I get reviewing the cameras periodically if there is a problem or complaint on a certain shift. But to sit there & watch them at home at all hours is very weird & just shows that you absolutely don’t trust your employees. Idk, I think I want to quit tbh bc not only does he see us, he also listens to us talk & will ask us about our conversations. It just feels invasive. Am I wrong or is this just overboard micromanaging?
Before the pandemic there was 14 of us. The ones still employed just do more work for the same pay. I work for a bank.. and my department gives used car dealers lines of credit who buy an sell vehicles while paying fees and interest. I’m making $35/hour but still feel underpaid based off the amount of money I’m managing 40 hours a week 8-5. Am I crazy?
Move to lemme/ fediverse?
Anyone thought of creating a server there instead of greedy reddit?
Slow corporate greed, carry cash
We have to put an end to the money grab that businesses are engaging in against employees. It’s been happening for a while now but since Covid many have ramped it up to a new level. Many don’t know this but when you pay a gratuity on a cruise ship about 80-90% never goes to the front facing employees as stated and implied. I’m not sure how this is legally allowed but it’s definitely happening. It’s misleading at best and theft at worst. Now what I’ve been seeing are many resorts and lodges going to the all inclusive model. Looks like they’ve figured out how to be able to manipulate the system to enrich themselves and keep the common man down where he belongs. We can stop this with one simple step, carry and tip in cash. Ask about specifics regarding how your gratuity is being spent, and boycott those…
So my boss has been on a rampage lately apparently. He's taking his frustration out on us but this one makes no sense. Apparently there has been a “cell phone problem” so we aren't allowed to use them unless it's for text our boss. And now because a coworker didn't “hear the problem when it happened” music being played on noise canceling headsets is out too. Thing is, you can't hear or feel your phone going off over the machines you are running. And you obviously don't get text notifications unless your headset is turned on and tuned into the Bluetooth part or its wired. So he's basically told us we should drive around in absolute boring silence for 8 hours with no way to know he's trying to contact us. Even if we had radios we couldn't hear them over our machines. Nobody is going to drive around with…
