I'm going to preface this by saying: My direct boss is wonderful. She's done a lot for me and my team and this is not as all about her. This is about the person over her. I'll call him S. Also, I have contemplated not posting this because i don't want any kind of retaliation, but fuck it. ​ Backstory to all of this: I lost my aunt a few weeks back after a month-long battle in the hospital. She had a funeral a few days ago. The company I am at does not give bereavement pay unless it is your parent, child, or spouse, so I took vacation time for her funeral as well as multiple times during the month before her passing. Said multiple times during my interview that I only speak English. Now their all annoyed with me for not speaking Spanish and threatening to write me up for it. Gonna file a complaint but this is Texas I highly doubt it will do anything except waste my time. People say “just look for another job”. That's hard when your shity poverty job changes your schedule every week so you always work a split weekend and at least 6 days in a row. Im loosing my mind. It's like retail settings are trying to make you freak out and quit. Between incompetant managers and poverty wages it's like their trying to make it all fail on purpose. I want to cry.

My boss tried to change my shift last minute last night from 7-11 to 8-12. Now normally I'd be okay with the extra time to sleep in, but I had an interview today at 12 I scheduled way before this. Apparently one of my coworkers needs to be trained to open the store and this is “the only day she can do it”. We ended up on settling on me coming in at 8 and leaving at 11 and my coworker who's being trained to stay until 12. So my shift becomes 8-11, her's becomes 7-12. It gets better. Turns out when my boss said “this is the only day she can do it” she wasn't referring to the coworker bring trained. She was referring to another coworker who she wants to train her being available. Apparently, the coworker being trained literally works all week. Now why is that last…

I am not trained to deal with that sort of situation at all. My organization has not provided training as I have requested or safety measures for me while I perform home-visits. Feeling overwhelmed.

I am only 21 years old but looking to the future am I just supposed to work for 50 years to survive? I understand social security is a thing but I can't imagine it will exist once I'm retired

I had a scheduling issue that couldn't be avoided and it was a bit last minute. However, I did EVERYTHING in my power to work with this lady (supervisor in charge of scheduling) and try to fix the situation so I could continue seeing one of my clients. I go up to her yesterday to try to have a conversation about talking with the client to adapt their schedule so that we could continue working together, and this woman straight up attacks me in front of my boss and another colleague. I apologize as sincerely as I can and continue trying to steer the conversation towards coming up with a solution. Nah. This lady isn't having it and continues to be extremely aggressive with me and starts making claims about the situation that aren't true in front of ny boss (you only gave me a two day, notice, etc.).
