My workweek starts on Sunday, instead of Monday. Most people in my building are M-F, and HR sent out an email that everyone can leave work an hour early to get a head start on their long weekends. I did not get to leave an hour early on Thursday (my Friday), because it doesn’t “count.” The benefit is only for people who work M-F, even tho I am also working 5 days a week, 40 hours. This is from a university that makes us attend many workshops on equity, etc. My coworkers have also decided to wfh the days bookending the holiday weekend. Most are traveling or visiting family, because they have three days. I do not, since I work today, and won’t be able to travel to see family tomorrow like i want to. I am not allowed to wfh because my direct supervisor said so. (She said she…

Yesterday I started my shift as a key holder(still in training) as the store manager left the store leaving myself and one other person alone for about an hour. Being a retail location and memorial day weekend it was insanely busy. And there was no one to cover her department. About an hour later the MOD came in. The other person I was working with told him they hadn't had their lunch yet and it was already an hour past their 5th hour. He told her to go and to not clock out and he would manually ad her punch so that she “didn't violate” and get written up. To my knowledge A: that's illegal and B: she's owed an hour pay. correct? I've seen so many red flags at this place that I've been frantically searching for another job. Starting with the “Union Free Environment” section in the employees…
I am still technically employed but have been missing multiple (4) paychecks because of the company doing poorly. Is it possible for me to file for unemployment currently or do I need to be fired? I don’t know if I’m allowed to stop going to work if I’m no longer reviewing pay but don’t want to “quit” if I can’t file for unemployment. Any help is appreciated.
It's just a fun part time job working with kids. They were possibly discussing surgery and removing my colon due to my crohns disease. After my colonoscopy, my G.I. said it was one of the worst colons he has ever seen and he has been working for 40+ years. I am actively vomiting, bleeding, and in excruciating pain. I have been hospitalized for the past 6 days. Before that 2 weeks ago, I was hospitalized for 4 days. They are making me call off shifts rather than taking me off the schedule. I will be quitting in 2 months anyway due to graduating and starting my first post undergraduate job. My family and friends are fucking furious and so am I. Is this something I should fight for before I leave in 2 months? Should I contact my managers boss? Should I just go no contact until I get discharged?…
About to quit after the first day
Honestly im posting this because my anxiety is through the roof, I’ve had one shift at this company but it was 10 hours and all they made me do was portion sauces for 8 hours. Yeah, no im not doing that. I didn’t even get a meal on my break, it was made 2 hrs after my break and then a coworker passed it to a customer the second i left to get a sharpie and put it to the side. I think im anxious bc it feels like a leap to take after one shift and when i need money so badly but im so tired of being so undervalued in a workplace that im not putting up with it anymore. Id love your guys’ thoughts on this, good or bad.
