Simply put, either don’t use said service or tip appropriately. I’m a doordash driver, and unfortunately the r/doordash sub is a great example of a toxic double standard. People will constantly say it isn’t their responsibility to but at the same time will still use the service. I have tried repeatedly to explain how we get paid. Doordash usually pays us 2.25-4 dollars a delivery, and so our main wages are from tips. When you try to explain that a 4 dollar tip when you live 5 miles from the restaurant and the order takes me 30 minutes to complete isn’t good, people lose their mind and ask why they should tip more, tell me to get a real job (I have a full time job) etc etc Does it blow that companies rely on tipping. Yes. The answer though isn’t to screw over the service worker though, and not…

No BairesDev, I will not make a short video to introduce myself.
Why am I asked to tip for pickup pizza?
I have a bachelor's in biology (which I now know is a worthless degree) and nothing else. I have been considering going into MLS. I currently work in a toxicology lab for a small pain clinic. I've been there 7 months now and have experience working with the LC/MS there. When I started in this lab and the supervisor who had been there a long time was leaving. She trained me one on one for a month. She only found someone to replace her the final week and I was expected to train him. This guy had no relevant experience. I had to do all the lab work for the 4 ish months he was there. A couple months ago he left and a new supervisor came in. This woman is a certified medical technician who is in her 60's and has lots of experience. She has been very active…
So I’ve been working at this company for a year and two months now. In talking with a co-worker who was hired a month or so before me I found out that I make at least 5$/hr less than him… and he can do 2/3rds of the work that I can do… When I asked for this raise all I got was “you made X, y, z, gamma, zeta, theta, mistakes and you’re slow as fuck (not an actual quote). I am actually faster than some employees that have been there far longer than I have at some tasks… I laid out that I am underpaid and that I have contributed more value to the company than when I started and I’ve been here long enough to be rewarded for that… All I got was “we’ll talk amongst ourselves and see what happens”. Fuck off. I’m going to have to…
I love my job most of the time, but they don’t pay sick pay. I have gone in even when I have felt like death. So everyone knows when I don’t go in, it must be serious. I have had severe jaw/tooth pain over the last week, painkillers weren’t touching it. Some days I thought about not going in or asking to leave early. Used my lunch the other day for an emergency dentist. Turned out I had an infected new filling and one of my wisdom teeth (waiting on removal appointment) had emerged inflamed. Both on same row of teeth, only a few apart. The dentist gave me antibiotics and Said I was very unlucky to get both at once. I returned to work and tried my best, but that day was the worst yet. Constant, debilitating pain. I couldn’t concentrate. Asked to leave 90 minutes early (I meant…
